1. Who we are

Fata cu unghiile (the "Service") is operated by AI with Ash Ltd, a UK company. The Service is a directory of independent nail artists in Romania.

2. What data we collect

When you sign up as an artist or customer we collect your email address. If you list yourself as an artist we additionally collect: a phone number, your public display name, profile photos, optional social handles (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook), city, languages spoken, and bio text. To process payouts we ask Stripe to collect identity and bank account information from you (we never see this data ourselves — Stripe stores it directly).

3. Why we collect it

We use this data to (a) operate your account on the Service, (b) display your public profile to potential customers, (c) process payments for bookings via Stripe, (d) send transactional emails (sign-in codes, booking confirmations, moderation outcomes), and (e) comply with our legal and tax obligations.

4. Approximate location

To improve the site experience, we use the visitor's IP address to estimate their city of origin and pre-select it in search filters. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in providing relevant results. For the IP lookup we send the address to a third-party geolocation provider (currently ipapi.co) for a single transient query; the IP is not stored by us beyond that immediate purpose. You can change the selected city at any time — your choice is remembered in a cookie and takes precedence over the IP-based estimate.

5. Precise location (optional)

If you enable the "Use my location" option in the search filters, your browser will ask for permission to share your device's precise location. Your coordinates (latitude and longitude) are sent to our servers once per visit to determine the nearest city in our directory. The coordinates are not stored or logged — they live in memory for the duration of a single request and are then discarded. We only keep a preference cookie ("fcu_use_location") indicating that you opted in, so you do not have to re-enable on every visit. Disabling the option clears that cookie; to fully revoke permission, change your browser's location settings.

6. Who we share it with

We share data only with the third-party services we need to operate: Stripe (payments and payouts), Postmark (transactional email delivery), AWS S3 (storage of uploaded photos). Each is bound by their own data-processing terms. We do not sell or rent your data, ever.

7. How long we keep it

Account data: while your account is active. After deletion we keep minimal records (email, deletion date) for 30 days for fraud-prevention purposes, then erase. Payment-related records (invoices, transactions): 7 years to satisfy UK and Romanian tax law. Profile photos are deleted on account deletion.

8. Your rights under GDPR

You can ask us at any time to: (a) export the data we hold on you, (b) correct inaccurate data, (c) delete your account, (d) restrict processing, (e) port your data to another service. Email support@fatacuunghiile.ro and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Cookies

We only use cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the Service or that are set as a direct result of an action you take (signing in, choosing a language, choosing a currency). We do not use any analytics, advertising, profiling, or third-party tracking cookies.

Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (and Romanian Law 506/2004), strictly necessary cookies do not require prior consent. The cookies listed below all fall into that category, which is why you do not see a consent banner on this site. If we ever introduce non-essential cookies in the future, we will ask for your consent first.

How to disable

You can clear or block any of these cookies via your browser settings — search "manage cookies" alongside your browser name for instructions. Disabling them may affect how the Service works for you: you would have to sign in on every visit, your language and currency choices would not be remembered, and payments may not function.
